If you would like to sign up for Science in Society announcements, please click HERE. The Leonardo will NEVER give your contact information to outside parties and will only send emails with additional information about upcoming Science in Society dialogs.

Science in Society is a public dialog series, held five to six times per year, on a wide range of topics in science, technology, and medicine. Co-sponsored by KCPW and by the City Library, participants engage in a genuine dialog with panelists representing different aspects of the subject. The goal is a real dialog – not lectures.

The Public Dialogs for 2007-08 were be focused on CHOICE-- and related to risk, chance, luck, etc.

Each Science in Society discussion is recorded and uploaded to our website. We also present some interviews recorded by our local public radio station KCPW. You can subscribe to our podcast by clicking the 'RSS' icon to the left.

If you use iTunes to manage your podcasts, you can click this link to automatically download new recordings right after we post them.

The major objective of “Science Without Walls” is to provide you, the viewer, with a basic scientific literacy. The goal is not to turn you into a test-tube wielding scientist nor to teach you complicated physics but to help you understand the basic concepts and themes which underlie our natural world and to provide you with the background and confidence to become involved in the scientific and technological issues important to your nation, state, community, and family.
